I have been working as a clinical dietitian for over 15 years. As a former national elite triathlete, and provincial swimmer, cross-country and track athlete (and now busy working mom who still loves to be athletic), I have had first-hand experience regarding the importance, benefits and challenges of eating an optimal diet for sports performance. This, together with my love of all things to do with food, sparked my interest in sports nutrition and led me to complete my honours in Nutrition and Dietetics (UCT), my honours in Sports Science (Stell.), and the internationally recognised IOC diploma in Sports Nutrition. I started my career in the state sector, before running a successful private practice in KZN and then relocating to Cape Town.
I work with individuals, athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all levels and ages, sports teams, and coaches. I have a special interest in the female athlete triad and relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S), emotional and disordered eating, and gut health. My aim is to help people to explore and strengthen their relationship with food, and to find an enjoyable and sustainable way of eating that supports long-term health.
